STOP THE BLEED KITS

Saturday, July 16, 2022

In the last few months, there have been active shooter incidents throughout the country that have shocked this nation. Last month, the Northwest Healthcare Preparedness Organization received funding that allowed for the purchase of Stop-The-Bleed (STB) kits for a number of our member clinics. STB kits are used to stop uncontrolled bleeding from traumatic wounds like gunshots so that a person can make it to the hospital.

Children’s Community Clinic, North by Northeast Community Health Center, Neighborhood Health Center, Outside In, and Wallace received these kits and will be trained by trauma surgery staff from OHSU and Legacy on how to use them.
