Holistic Health Care for All
Building Equity. Strengthening Clinics. Serving Communities.
We advance holistic, high quality health care for all communities.
The Coalition of Community Health Clinics (CCHC) is a non-profit advocacy and direct service organization comprised of a network of Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), community-sponsored clinics (CSCs), and educational health institutions.
OUR MISSION is to improve healthcare for vulnerable populations.
WE DO THIS BY strengthening community clinics, promoting health equity, and fostering collaboration through shared learning and advocacy efforts with our members and community. We partner with community health clinics and community-based organizations to provide culturally responsive, holistic, preventive services.
OUR VISION is that everyone has access to holistic and culturally responsive healthcare and services to live and thrive in their communities.
WE WERE FOUNDED in 1985 and incorporated as a 501(c)(3) in 2000. CCHC fosters collaboration among safety-net health clinics to meet the needs of our diverse communities, who are systematically excluded from equitable healthcare.
OUR VALUES include:
- Building Coalition. Building partnerships, policies, legislative agendas, and convenings that strengthen collective impact.
- Centering Community. Providing direct services, outreach, and enrollment support that center our diverse communities.
- Promoting Health. Advancing equity through advocacy, training, and research that respond to community needs.
- Strengthening Clinics. Supporting clinics with referrals, preparedness, technical assistance, and collaborative learning.
- Sustaining Organization. Investing in our people, programs, and practices to ensure long-term impact and organizational resilience.

What Makes Us Unique
CCHC fills a critical gap in Oregon’s healthcare infrastructure. While many statewide associations focus primarily on Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), we serve a broader, more diverse network—including FQHCs, community-sponsored clinics, and educational health institutions.
We bridge gaps for clinics that are vital to their communities by strengthening community connections, providing resources, and building the collective voice needed to thrive.
CCHC is a bridge—connecting public health systems, clinic providers, community-based organizations, and patients. Our work connects people to care they deserve right in their community.
What sets CCHC apart is our deep commitment to health equity and racial justice. We don’t just acknowledge injustice—we center it in our strategy, partnerships, and programs. Our commitment is reflected in the diversity of the clinics and communities we serve—communities that have long faced systemic barriers rooted in racism, economic inequity, and historical exclusion.
Through equity-focused advocacy, education, and direct services, we dismantle systemic barriers and drive lasting change alongside our clinic and community partners.
What We Do
CCHC strengthens Oregon’s health safety-net by uniting community clinics, advancing health equity, and connecting people to essential care. We bring clinics, community organizations, and public partners together to tackle barriers in the healthcare system—and we also support communities directly, every day.
Our work focuses on four core areas:
- Clinic support to help safety-net providers deliver holistic, trauma-informed, and inclusive care.
- Health-related social services to connect people with housing, insurance, and other vital social supports.
- Specialized programs and training that build equity-centered capacity, including emergency preparedness and community health worker (CHW) certification.
- Advocacy that drives policy change and resources toward historically underserved communities.

Our Anti-Racism and Equity Commitment
CCHC believes health is a human right. We acknowledge the ongoing harm that systemic racism causes in healthcare.
We are committed to growing as an anti-racist organization and coalition by advancing racial justice and health equity in our workplace and communities. We challenge policies and systems that disenfranchise our communities and perpetuate harm against people of color.
We honor and uplift each other’s lived and cultural experiences. We celebrate our differences and the unique identities that shape how we move through the world.
We lead an inclusive network by advocating for the diverse voices of staff, clinic members, and communities. We hold ourselves accountable for the impact of our words and actions within our organization and acknowledge the power of our actions and words and their impact on the communities we serve. We celebrate and honor the strength, wisdom, and resilience within our communities, and we lead with kindness and compassion in all we do.
