Mission

Our mission is to improve healthcare for vulnerable populations residing in Tri-County area. We do this by strengthening community clinics, promoting health equity, and fostering collaboration through shared learning and advocacy efforts with our members.

The Coalition of Community Health Clinics (CCHC) is a non-profit organization that serves a network of seventeen non-profit community health clinics that provide a range of health and preventive services for low-income, uninsured, and under-served community members.

The “health care safety net” is a term that has come to define the array of clinical sites around the state to provide health care opportunities for those who otherwise would have barriers to accessing quality health services. These barriers include lack of coverage, geographic isolation, language and culture, mental illness and homelessness.

History

The Coalition was formed in 1985 to foster collaboration among community based clinics and to support local efforts to meet the needs of medically underserved populations. Because of our partnership with Multnomah County, we are able to continue to grow our coalition’s impact through our work and the Coalition has grown tremendously in scope and membership.

Currently made up of 16 clinics, which are Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), Community Sponsored Clinics (CSCs) and teaching colleges/universities, and a staff of five full and part-time employees, CCHC manages advocacy efforts on behalf of its members to be able to provide high quality clinical care to those in need and reduce health disparities.
